Through the Lensbaby | November

Life in our household is a little nutty this month, so this morning I bought some flowers and slowed down a bit to play with my Lensbaby. I holed myself up in my relatively quiet room (the only somewhat peaceful place in the house because we have contractors here all the time these days) with my flowers and my Grandma’s crystal (since all my vases are packed up still). I find that I need to be very “present” with those lenses because I need to think much more—about where to place my sliver of focus or my sweet spot, and especially I need to slow down to manually focus, which is always a bit of a struggle for me since my aging eyes seem to betray me when peering through that tiny viewfinder! But I love shooting with the Lensbaby lineup anyhow because it forces me to slow down and be in the moment. I find it relaxing.

Hi Jessica I follow your lovely work on CM and just saw you on 500px. I love ALL of your images but I am particularly drawn to your lens baby images because of their dreamy look & mood. For the above 2 flower images which optic did you use? I have several of then and I am committed to use them over Christmas…maybe a 101 list 🙂
    Thank you,
