On Friday, we lost one of our own…

In part because of the internet, the world of female photographers feels somewhat small. And even if we don’t know each other in person, we tend to read each others’ blogs: sharing our art while sharing our lives, reveling in each others’ successes and supporting each other through adversity. I only recently learned of the beautiful Jen Thompson and her struggle with ovarian cancer. And on Friday, she lost her battle. One of Jen’s legacies, though, is her intense belief that we photographers and mothers need to make more of an effort to actually be IN photos, especially in photos with our kids. So we at ClickinMoms decided to get together and dedicate a day to her on CMpro Daily by taking a photo in honor of Jen. So this morning, Emily and I went out in the backyard together with my camera, tripod, and remote, and just played.

My heart breaks for her family and friends, and especially for the two little boys she left behind. But I know you have made a difference in my life, Jen, and that will make a difference in Emily’s. From the bottom of my heart, thank you…

Very Kind Words…..No matter how long you have known someone, whether you’ve know them a long time or just met them…it is always difficult because you miss them being there. May the Moms be strong and honor your friend with great pictures…ReplyCancel
